Apparently, Keleigh Sperry wasn’t a fan of husband Miles Teller’s “Top Gun: Maverick” mustache — even if it started a viral trend on TikTok.

“My wife made me shave it immediately,” the 35-year-old star told People in a recent interview.

The model and actress, who married her “Footloose” actor husband in 2019, might not have been big on his filming style, but plenty of the movie’s fans disagree.

In the long-awaited hit sequel to the 1986 movie, Teller plays Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of Goose from the original “Top Gun” — and his 1980s-style ‘stache has given the look a bit of a comeback.

Have a look at #topgunmustache or #topgunmustachechallenge on TikTok and you’ll see thousands of men showing off their best eighties facial hair on the social network, like one moviegoer who posted a video of himself shaving the perfect Rooster look with the caption: “POV: The Morning After Watching Top Gun.”

The trend has been so popular that GQ turned to facial hair expert Joe Mills to get tips for the perfect “Top Gun: Maverick” look; he advised men to “give yourself at least two weeks to get it up to a good level of growth” and “to start at the crook of the mouth” when shaving it in.

Movie fans aren’t the only ones getting in on the TikTok “Top Gun” fun; Sperry has been sharing some shirtless videos of her husband on the platform to help promote the movie.

“My wife’s just been having fun with it because, obviously, she loves me more than anybody,” the “Too Old to Die Young” actor told E! News.

As for other men rocking the ‘stache, Teller told People he was a “big fan of it. If it makes them more confident, then more power to them. … But we’ll see, maybe it’ll be a good summer trend and then die out.”
