Producers of sustainable spirits brand Wildjac are encouraging customers to affect change with a unique scheme to help the environment. From foraging for botanicals to using recycled materials, drinkers are now invited to join the project.

Founded in October 2020 by husband-and-wife team Chris and Aster Sadler, Wildjac Distillery is based in Bewdley, Worcestershire, in the heart of the beautiful Wyre Forest. Nestled above six and a half thousand acres of British oak, silver birch and Douglas fir trees, Wildjac is a sustainable distillery that takes its inspiration from its location’s natural environment.

Spirits are distilled on-site in Wyre Forest and hand-bottled within post-consumer recycled glass bottles featuring recycled labels, certified wood stoppers and biodegradable closures. Each bottle also comes with a QR code enabling customers to claim a free wildflower grow set with every purchase.

It produces premium versions of gin, vodka and rum carefully blended to create a unique tasting sensation. Wildjac is part of the 1% For The Planet programme which sees one per cent of all sales revenue given back to charities and organisations including the Wyre Forest Community Land Trust, Trees for Cities and the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. It has created unique twists on classic summer cocktail recipes, when a standard G&T or passionfruit martini needs that little bit extra.

A mixture of sweet and bitter ingredients to find the perfect balance, Razor Sharp is the most marvellous blend of botanical vodka, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, lemon and soda.

Mix all ingredients and shake well with ice in a cocktail shaker, then simply strain over ice and garnish.

This pineapple rum punch is a superb summery combination of spiced rum, pineapple juice and dry ginger ale – refreshing, simple to make and sure to bring smiles to any summer party.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, rum, pineapple juice, lime - and chilli if you’re adding a little heat to your mix. Shake well and strain over ice into a tumbler. Top with ginger ale and a twist of lime and then serve up and enjoy.

This honey vodka cocktail packs a whole lot of refreshing flavours – lovingly made from unbeatably fresh combination of botanical vodka, honey, lemon and a hint of lavender

Dissolve honey in warm water in an empty shaker, then add vodka, lemon juice and ice cubes.

Shake to combine, pour through a strainer into a saucer and garnish with a twist of lemon.

Basil is a lovely little addition to lots of cocktails, and this recipe – a delicious mixture of gin, lemon, soda and basil – is especially suited to the fresh green flavour of the herb.

In an old-fashioned glass, muddle the sugar, fresh basil, and lemon juice together and then remove the basil leaves, if you prefer. Then add the gin, ice and fill the remainder of the glass with club soda. Garnish the top of the cocktail with lemon slices and fresh basil leaves and enjoy.
